Bringing LA's Beloved Pizzana to Houston: Experience the Cult-Favorite Pizzeria

Pepperoni

Houston has a rich pizzeria scene, so it came as no surprise when the acclaimed LA gem, Pizzana, made its move to the city. Known for their two day fermented dough, this establishment offers an exquisite array of Southern Naples & Italian inspired pizzas, pastas, tantalizing appetizers, and expertly crafted cocktails. I had the privilege of attending their exclusive VIP Pre-Opening event, where I savored a preview of their most beloved appetizers and pizzas.

This casual eatery boasts a full bar with an exquisite wine selection, but it was their handcrafted cocktails that truly stole the show for me, especially the Sorrento Slushy. This delightful libation combines Aperol, limoncello, prosecco, and orange for a refreshingly taqngy treat.

As for appetizers, they offer a tantalizing array of Italian favorites. The Polpette Al Forno, featuring wood-fired meatballs, San Marzano DOP tomatoes, and wood-fired bread, stood out. Each bite was a delight, drenched in homemade tomato sauce and a true testamant to Italian comfort food done right.

Of course, I couldn't resist indulging in their famous pizza—the beloved Cacio e Pepe pizza. This award-winning masterpiece is adorned with provoloncino d’Agerola, fior di latte, Parmigiano crema, and cracked black pepper. The creamy richness of the fior di latte and Parmigiano crema paired perfectly with the sharp bite of the pepper, making it one of the most memorable pizzas I've had in quite some time.
